FUN FACTS
  • Today , the poppy is seen as a symbol of remembrance for the men and women who died during World Wars I and II
  • Every November you will see many people adorning red paper poppies in memory of those who gave their lives for our freedom
  • The significance of the Poppy can be traced back to the Napoleonic Wars in the 19th century over 110 years before being adopted in Canada as a symbol for Remembrance Day

 

SIZE & STYLE

  • Soft and flowing pure silk caftan top is hip length with 3/4 kimono style sleeve 
  • Center front length approximately 27  Inches 69 cm
  • Covers Hips with a banded hem detail giving extra weight and movement
  • Side length shoulder to edge of shark bite hem approximately 34 inches 87 cm
  • Sheer sides open up below the cuff , light and airy perfect for a night out or a beach wedding
  • Finished width from cuff edge to cuff edge 49 inches 125 cm
  • Wear over a camisole or fancy bra top with palazzo or harem pants 

THE ARTISTIC PROCESS

  • Each artistic design is hand drawn on natural white pure silk with a gutta resist
  • Using French dyes and paint brushes the color is blended and applied
  • The painted silk is steam set permanently fixing the color then hand washed 
  • Each fashion piece is carefully cut out by hand and sewn together by Lynne Kiel
