FUN FACTS

  • The significance of the Poppy can be traced back to the Napoleonic Wars in the 19th century,
  • over 110 years before being adopted in Canada as a symbol for Remembrance Day.
  • Records from that time indicate how thick Poppies grew over the graves of soldiers in the area of Flanders, France.

  • Soft and flowing pure silk caftan top covers hips 
  • Finished length center front shoulder to hem 28" /71 cm
  • Hem band detail gives extra weight and movement

THE ARTISTIC PROCESS

  • Each artistic design is hand drawn on natural white pure silk with a gutta resist
  • Using French dyes and paint brushes the color is blended and applied
  • The painted silk is steam set permanently fixing the color then hand washed 
  • Each fashion piece is carefully cut out by hand and sewn together by Lynne Kiel
